Website helps mature workers find jobs

Attention mature workers: Your experience carries value in the job marketplace. At least that’s suggested by a new Website that links 50-plus workers with employers eager to fill jobs.

The recently-launched RetirementJobs.com provides mature workers with a number of resources to find jobs or start their own businesses. Visitors can enter their zip code and find full- and part-time jobs near their home. There are hundreds of job openings in accounting, sales, real estate, retail and manufacturing. Employers seeking help include Borders, Manpower and Kelly Services.

The site also offers visitors help with crafting and posting a resume. And it has career advice and tips on how to become an entrepreneur.

RetirementJobs.com was started by Tim Driver, a former executive who ran the careers division for AOL and also worked at Salary.com. He obviously sees a viable business model in connecting older workers with hungry employers. Evidence: among the advertisers and sponsors: AARP, Bank of America and Home Depot.
